I am having difficulty adding on some online classes for my mom.
My mom says that when she did it last year she was able to just do the online classes without going to orientation or any of that. just was able to register.

I go to a community college in Texas and have been paying for it out of pocket and with college funds up to this point. I am about to finish up with my associates degree and transfer to a local university and am going to have to take out a student loan to pay for it. My parents allowed me to live at home while at the community college but after I finish I need to get my own place. I worked out a deal with my parents to finish a unfinished garage type apartment on my parents property. It will cost around $20,000 to complete. It will raise my parents property value and it will allow me to have a place to stay with no rent or utility bills.
My question is what does the loan officer look at when approving the loan? I have a 3.76 GPA and very little on my credit report (nothing open now, paid off a vehicle loan about 2 years ago). Would I be able to get a loan for the $20,000 and in spring 2011 get a loan for school?
I know I have to fill out the FAFSA application but I wanted to get some information about any way I can better my chances to get my desired loan. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks

And my parents recently lost their morgage protection business due to the economy and after all the losses they only brought home $32,000 last year. Their projected to bring home about $55,000 this year. If the loan officer looks at my parents income last year will that benifit my cause?
Also, if I apply for a student loan now (May 2010) when will I be able to recieve it? Would I have to wait until next sememster or next year? I would like to get started on the renivations of the garrage apartment this summer to have it done by next semester.

Ive heard of people having over $100,000 student loans. How could someone afford to go to school on $7,500 per year. After paying for school, rent, living expences and a vehicle. There has to be a way to get more than that. Ive heard of people getting a student loan to pay for a car that costs more than $7,500.

Brief background: Moved from one state to another for a job, which was lost. Income has dropped to about 50% of what it was. We’ve gone through our savings to try and pay things. Bring home pay now covers ONLY new house payment, utilities, groceries, life insurance, and government student loan. Have previously surrendered 2nd vehicle, (1st vehicle is paid in full). Old house in old state foreclosed on and being sold tomorrow. Credit cards remaining unpaid and sent for collections, etc.
My question is this: should bankruptcy proceedings begin or should we continue as is? What, if anything, can our creditors do to us (other than trash our credit – which has already happened). We live in Texas. I would appreciate any suggestions. However please refrain from replies such as “get a job”, because we are both working full time jobs and have cut ALL unnecessary spending. We dread the thought of bankruptcy, but see no other alternative.
We’ve done the credit counseling, etc., and the funds are simply not there.
Can they garnish wages for debt in Texas?

Actually, this video was done after the RAM to VGA portion of the project was completed. I decided to put this video up in order to show a more clear bit sequence progression. The input signal was a slowly varying sawtooth wave sourced by a function generator. Clearly, the LEDs do not skip around as they did with the potentiometer. Why have my property taxes been raised 3 times more than I paid last year?

I have a home on 1 lot in Edinburg ,Texas….w/ a lot on both sides of the home to give us a little more privacy (totalling less than an acre)……. VERY, VERY RURAL !.
I am getting to where I can no longer afford these sky rocketing, outrages tax amounts. I am 56 years old and earn less than $30,000/yr.
The taxes I paid have been raised 3x’s more from what I paid last year.
I am considering selling just one lot to help me pay the taxes, but next year they could double again. This could go on year after year.
I really was hoping to retire there in the next six years, but at this rate I will not be able to pay the property taxes and hang on to my old home.
I called the Tax Accessor in Edinburg and he says everybody’s taxes went up.
Should I believe him ?
Is there any way of finding out if other neighbors (that also have lots) are paying this amount?
Shouldn’t all the surrounding lots also be taxed around the same $ ?
I can’t afford a loan ,…… can someone please give me some sound advise ?

Land contract problem with home owners/late fees?

Hello. I was wondering if someone can help out.
We are a family and we are buying a house land contract. The owner of the home lives in California and we live in Ohio(Where the home is obviously). Well in our contract we have a ten day late grace period which we take advantage of because of our income schedule of pay.
Well the home owner switched loan servicers on us a few months ago and today she calls and says that we owe her a bunch of late fees. Basically she is no longer going by the land contract and wants all of the back late fees that she says we owe her(we are talking over a couple thousand dollars, which we cannot afford).
It makes no sense because the old servicer asked for the late fees because it is stipulated in our contract that no fees start till after being ten days late. The problem is that the contract also says that the late fees start if the payment is not received by the first, so basically the contract contradicts itself.
My question is what options do we have and what repsonsibilities to pay these late fees? Can she actually go back and now say that we have to pay all the back late fees, even though all of our old payments were cleared through the servicer as paid in full?
Basically she is saying “ooops there was a mistake, and now i need it all or else im gonna evict your family. ”

I can’t afford to replace it since it might cost around $500. so I’ll need to sell it.
Do I have to tell the buyer of my car (if I choose to sell it) that I think it needs a new water pump? I live in Washington State and I know we do have lemon laws, but I think that only pertains to used car dealerships. Is that true?

I’m underwater with a loan that’s set to blow up in a few years. I’m pondering jumping into the market to buy a new home at today’s prices and interest rates and renting the place I’m in now.
If I end up loosing too much on the rental, I would probably just stop making payments and let it go into foreclosure. I’d already be established in my new home, so nothing to worry about, right?
Could the bank place a lien on the new home? I recall hearing somewhere that the bank could only go after the property as long as I have just one loan and have not refied, which I haven’t.
Any advice is appreciated.

My husband and I are getting a va home loan. We had a counteroffer from a seller only requesting that we pay 100 dollars a day for every day after 40 that our home is not closed. Our lender believes that he can do it in 30 but if its not done we are responsible. My question is, is it legal for a seller to try to charge these fees on va loan?
